Centrally located at 137 Maxfield Avenue is a modern edifice, which could be easily mistaken for a bank. Neatly landscaped and with adequate parking, this is the home of none other than Sunshine Auto Parts. Sunshine Auto Parts is an accredited distributor of Genuine and Non-Genuine parts for Toyota, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Lexus, and also used parts for Toyota Corolla and Camry (deportee). With over 12,000 sq. ft. of storage space, the company stocks a full inventory, including hard to get parts and parts that are not regularly requested. There is also a small stock of accessories, but the company has decided to maintain its core operation, auto parts. At its helm is the vibrant hands-on Managing Director, Errol Brennan, who together with his wife and partner Paulette Brennan, have single handedly moved Sunshine Auto Parts from a small "Mom and Pop" operation on Waltham Park Road, to a first class-service-oriented organization, in the prime location where it now exists with a compliment of approximately twenty six (26) employees. Beginning in 1982 as an expansion of Sunshine Transport, Sunshine Auto Parts has achieved its stripes through hard work, innovativeness, dedication and more important planning. Errol Brennan – Managing Director reveals that it was never the plan to remain a small non-descript operation. "We always thought big, for us the sky is the limit, and from the outset it was our vision to become a firm contender in the Auto Parts Industry". Every business decision made, every marketing strategy adopted or initiated through the years have been geared toward achieving just this. So in 1982, having been in the transport sector and realizing there was a untapped market for Isuzu parts, the Brennans began Sunshine Auto Parts as the first and only appointed sub-distributor of Isuzu parts until the "Free Market" began when other dealers entered the market. The success of Isuzu became the springboard of expansion into other areas and with a more relaxed motor vehicle importation policy, Sunshine Auto moved toward the need of the motoring public. The Toyota Line of parts was added to the inventory, quickly followed Mitsubishi then the Lexus line. With literally hundreds of Auto Parts Stores islandwide, what is it that makes Sunshine Auto Parts, with only one location, outshine its competitors? Ultimately the company is directed by vision and a willingness to be the trailblazer and all its strategies are authored by these concepts. The operation of this efficiently-run organization lends credence to this claim. This is demonstrated by the company intensive marketing, by utilizing both the electronic and print media as one of its means of advertising, with a target to reaching at least one hundred prospective customers. Sunshine Auto Parts was the first in the Industry to install a toll-free line to facilitate customers calling from out-of-town. There is also an additional thirteen (13) telephone lines plus thirteen extensions and an on-hold telephone voice system to ensure that information is disseminated to its customers at all times. Customers may also acquire information via its Email address. The unique brand of customer service offered by the company enables customers to be served six (6) days per week. Special arrangements are sometimes made to facilitate customers outside of regular working hours. The company also utilizes the services of several couriers to ensure that deliveries are made promptly to their customers. In addition, the company has recently begun to source parts all over the world through the internet in the quickest possible time to ensure that it’s customers vehicle are kept on the road. Not only does Sunshine Auto Parts sell motor vehicles parts and accessories, the company also provides technical advice to the uninitiated, which increases customer’s awareness and purchasing power. Special discount is also given to senior citizens and charitable organizations. Sunshine Auto has penetrated the export market. It has expanded its operation gaining small footholds in Grand Cayman, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, also the Bahamas. An intensive weekly in-house training programme is in progress, which deals with matters such as customer service, automotive-based courses, politics, international affairs and labour-related matters. The Company also sponsor staff members on other training programmes, workshops and seminars to ensure that its employees are equipped with the necessary skills to carry out their function effectively and efficiently.
